Blackbridge is a communications agency that helps clients attract and engage talent.

Based in central London, we employ 30 professionals across a range of creative, digital and project management roles. Our work has been recognised by the RAD Awards, CIPD marketing Awards, Corp Comms Digi Awards, AGR Awards and the TARGETjobs National Recruitment Awards.

Blackbridge was founded in 2004 and is still owner-managed. In a field where agencies are often controlled by distant conglomerates, or are start-ups without much depth of support, Blackbridge is refreshingly agile and well-resourced. Our client retention rates, as a consequence, are gratifyingly high.

Blackbridge operates a balanced scorecard. Our four measures are Client First, Commercial Success, Forward Together and Exceptional Work.

Client First means that ultimately, your success is what’s important. (We’re happy to work with remuneration schemes that tie our reward to your KPIs.) Commercial Success means recognising the importance of staying solvent, and having enough resources to reward our people and to invest in new services. Forward Together means being progressive, in terms of providing training and providing innovative client solutions. Exceptional Work means that we like to push boundaries, and exercise high levels of quality control.

We care passionately about training. Our people regularly attend courses, and we’ve recently invested in PRINCE2 training for account managers. Our graduate recruits work closely with directors, meaning these mentees have become some of the brightest prospects in the business.

We keep an eye on our environmental footprint, recycling where possible, practising conscious energy consumption, providing bicycle parking facilities and using paper made by sustainable methods. Environmentally, we’re keen to ensure our suppliers are as well-behaved as we are, too.

Our favoured charities are the Whitechapel Mission, the young people’s charity, SkyWay, and the infantile nystagmus charity, IN-vision.

Zawan Almaskati

Zawan is the Social Media Manager at Blackbridge. She delivers social media strategies and innovative solutions to help our clients attract and engage world-class talent. Throughout her career Zawan has worked with both global brands and UK-based startup companies. She particularly focuses on brand building, customer acquisition, engagement and retention through content creation and the intelligent use of digital channels.

Tony Andrews

After a successful period at the Daily Telegraph, Tony joined the agency world in 1997 at TCS. Rising rapidly through the ranks from Group Media Manager to Media Director and finally Joint MD of TCS London and Board Director of the TCS Group. In July 2004, TCS was acquired by a PLC and in January 2005, he founded Blackbridge Communications. Tony works in an MD capacity across all aspects of the business.

Andrew Baird

Andrew has over twenty years’ experience in marketing services and recruitment communications, winning awards in ceremonies in New York, Chicago, London and Hollywood along the way. Providing strong commercial insight, Andrew works with clients on employer brand development projects ensuring that businesses attract and retain the best possible talent. Businesses that have benefited from Andrew’s skills include HMV, Asda, MI6, BAA, Aviva and Deutsche Bank.

Jo Brickell
Jo Brickell

Jo is a Chartered Marketeer with the CIM Diploma in International Marketing, who began her career in retail banking and marketing.  She made the move into advertising and spent 15 years in board level roles for a variety of mainstream recruitment and employment marketing agencies.  This was followed by 5 years in employer brand consulting before joining Blackbridge.  Jo has worked with organisations as diverse Accenture; Barclaycard; BG Group; BP; CapGemini; Cable & Wireless plc; Disney; Ford Motor Company; GlaxoSmithKline; Hess; London 2012; Merck; Metropolitan Police; Nationwide Building Society and Pfizer on employee communications, employer brand and EVP projects.

Michael Cox

Michael is a Digital Designer and Developer at Blackbridge. He spends his time designing & building engaging experiences, both online and offline. Alongside using traditional design methods to work on a wide variety of branding and communications projects, he has experience in everything from creating bespoke mobile apps and websites to building web-connected physical devices.

Shonagh
Shonagh Davidson

Shonagh studied French and Philosophy at the University of St Andrews before joining Blackbridge in July 2015. As a graduate trainee, she has been assisting in a large employer branding project and will continue to gain experience in the industry through her rotations across different teams in the business.

Matt Flynn

Matt joined Blackbridge as a Junior Designer in early 2016. With a degree in Advertising as well as a passion for design, he is able to fine-tune ideas to create engaging, high-quality designs. Before Blackbridge, Matt completed a year’s training as a creative working on consumer clients such as VW, Liptons, CRUK, Virgin Trains and Esso.

Tristan Grove

Joining in 2015, Tristan is one of our newest writers. He has come from an in-house copywriting role with a telecommunications agency, where he managed the company’s online presence. Before that he gained experience on a range of freelance projects. In 2013 he graduated from University College London with a degree in English Language and Literature.

Mike Hanbidge

Mike began his career at a leading consumer research company, and has spent the last nine years in the employer marketing arena. As a Senior Consultant he has developed marketing strategies and employer brands for global and national companies alike, and has conducted a huge number of insight-related projects. Mike has worked with an array of organisations across many sectors, including BP, Barclays Capital, Betfair,Heinz, Almirall, Three, Morgan Stanley, PA Consulting and the Royal Mail.

Vicky Johnstone

After graduating in 2005, Vicky joined WJP Floyd where she trained as an Account Executive and then an Account Manager. She joined Blackbridge in April 2010. In her role as Client Partner, Vicky manages a wide range of recruitment and people communication campaigns as well as strategic and specialist projects, such as graduate attractions and internal employee initiatives. She’s worked on a number of our recent award winning projects, including the Care UK CIPD best recruitment website and E.ON’s ‘Room of the Future’ which won Best Innovation on Campus at the 2014 Target Jobs Awards.

Vlad Kladov

Joining Blackbridge as a finance assistant in 2014, Vlad helps to ensure that the agency’s financial matters run smoothly which involves working closely with our account management teams and creative department. In addition Vlad oversees the business' office and IT processes. Vlad is currently studying towards his ACCA qualification.

Natalia Swain is the Finance Manager at Blackbridge. Having gained significant experience working across a number of design agencies, she enjoys tackling the particular challenges that creative agencies often face. Natalia works closely with the principles here on making the business really thrive and grow.

Jason Legrande

Jason has over 15 years’ experience in employer communications. He joined AIA in 2005 as an Account Manager, and progressed to Client Strategist after managing a range of  people communications campaigns for global and UK-based organisations. Jason joined Blackbridge in 2016. In his role as Account Director, Jason has direct responsibility for a portfolio of clients as well as overseeing one of our account service teams.

Finn Lynch

Finn has over 15 years' experience in communications and acted as Managing Director of People Media before joining Blackbridge in 2009. As one of our Directors, Finn acts as the operational lead on extensive online and offline campaigns, and projects, across clients as diverse as the NHS, E.ON, Home Retail Group and British Gas. Finn and his team have also been involved in winning numerous industry awards. This includes work for British Gas, Care UK, STA Travel and Thomas Cook.

Ben McArthur is Creative Services Manager at Blackbridge. He has applied multiple design skills to a diverse range of industries over the years, and now lends his talents to the wide variety of clients at Blackbridge. His role demands flexibility, hard work, leadership and a permanently open mind – always with a passion for aesthetics and the client in mind.

Niamh McNiff

Before joining Blackbridge in Summer 2015, Niamh studied English at the University of Nottingham. Now a Graduate Trainee, Niamh is expanding her knowledge of the industry by working alongside different teams on a rotational basis and assisting in the delivery of live projects.

Sarah Morton

Sarah joined Blackbridge in 2006 as an Account Executive, learning the ropes of media buying, events and project management. Now an Account Manager, Sarah has experience working across professional services clients, managing a range of projects including design and delivery of internal and external communications, events and video production. Sarah also has experience running our client and internal events, recently managing the inaugural HR in Law Awards event in May.

Hannah Rawson

Hannah joined Blackbridge in October 2013 on the Blackbridge graduate scheme, after graduating in French with Theatre Studies from The University of Warwick. Now working as an Account and Project Co-ordinator Hannah works across various projects and clients building project management skills and helping with the smooth running of accounts. Hannah enjoys the wide variety of work she is involved with, particularly relishing the challenge of working on end-to-end employer branding projects.

Rachna Sawhney

Rachna recently joined Blackbridge as Finance Manager. Rachna has more than ten years' experience in Accounts and Audit, previously working as Client Accounting Manager at a printing house. She holds a masters degree in commerce and is currently in the final stage of her ACCA qualification.

Sean Sinclair

Sean is a Digital Designer and Developer at Blackbridge. He works on a wide variety of digital media projects from design through to production, such as the Argos, Habitat and Homebase careers sites as well as day to day online creative. Before joining in 2015, Sean worked with several charities and small businesses in Glasgow to improve their web and print presence.

Lorna Sinnott

After graduating in 2002, Lorna started working in people communications at an agency that focused on healthcare clients. Building on that experience at a charity sector specialist agency, she moved to Penna in 2012 where she worked on a variety of attraction projects for the agency’s largest clients. Lorna joined Blackbridge in 2016 as a specialist in delivering projects and campaigns for large and complex client accounts.

Jim Smith

Jim joined Blackbridge in August 2010, and has worked across all of its clients, both commercial and not–for–profit. As Head of Media at Blackbridge Communications, and with over 10 years’ experience in the industry, Jim has excellent relationships with the media and works with the wider team using his skills as an experienced planner and negotiator to ensure that media campaigns are executed to the highest standards.

Keshia Thompson

Joining Blackbridge as a graduate trainee in 2011, Keshia worked extensively alongside the commercial and the creative teams to develop her knowledge in communications. In her role as Senior Account Manager, Keshia acts as the primary point of contact for a number of key clients, working in partnership to achieve their strategic objectives. She has experience delivering a diverse range of projects including employer brand development, graduate attraction, website design and internal communications for clients such as E.ON, HCA Healthcare, Transport for London and Redrow Homes. 

Olivia
Olivia Williams

Having graduated from university in 2013, Olivia began her career in PR/Event Management, overseeing complex product launches for Amazon and Hasbro. She joined Blackbridge in 2014 as Account Coordinator, and built up her communications experience by supporting large-scale graduate campaigns. She also developed her project management skills on video shoots, radio, photographic shoots and online and offline media planning.

Olivia has now progressed to Account Executive and works on graduate attraction campaigns and a range of other internal and external communications projects, for clients such as Clifford Chance, Compass Group and Which?. Olivia is also a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner.
