Social Media Manager

Spitalfields, London

London Spitalfields (with home-working options)

Blackbridge is the largest independent employer branding agency in the UK. We help big-name brands attract and engage talent by creating innovative campaigns across multiple channels. As an employee-owned, full-service agency, we’re totally dedicated to delivering exceptional work for our clients, which include Aviva, Amazon, the NHS, Rolls-Royce and Vodafone.

We’re looking for a social media specialist who has a real flair for creative communication to join our established social team – someone who can deliver fresh and thoughtful campaigns and content to drive engagement, awareness and engage candidates on behalf of our clients.

Role overview

Combining content ideas that connect with tactical knowledge and technical understanding the Social Media Manager will provide strategic advice and executional excellence for our clients.

Work with household name brands such as Aviva, Rolls-Royce, Vodafone, and Lloyds Banking Group, to create and deliver thoughtful and engaging campaigns across paid and organic social media channels, ensuring a joined-up approach across all marketing activities.

Using all key channels including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Twitter, the Social Media Manager will own the creation, build and delivery of effective social media content for both campaign and always-on social media.

You’re a good fit if:

  • You revel in seeing results from combining creative social media with a foundation of data and insights
  • You keep up with social developments, not just shiny new platforms, but the functionality and user behaviour changes that shift the nuance of an approach
  • You like variety –
    • Across different verticals. As whilst our clients are focused on employer branding, you’ll be across engineering, medicine, insurance, law and more – all within a day
    • Across audience demographics. From apprenticeships and early careers, to experienced hire candidates and content for parents and carers, you’ll enjoy the challenge of creating a plan and content that fits
  • You thrive in collaborating with a team of specialists to deliver top quality work for client objectives

Why Blackbridge?

  • We’re owned by our employees, so we really care about delivering the best quality work, and by joining, you’ll be an owner too
  • Variety – you’ll get to work with big national and international brands across lots of different projects
  • We’re big enough to deliver incredible work, but small enough to collaborate in making that work effective, and you’ll know everyone at the agency
  • The social media team and service is growing, and that means a great opportunity to help shape a core business area

What you will do, day-to-day:

Together with our clients and in-house team of subject area specialists, the Social Media Manager will own the process from initial planning, content creation, delivery, posting, through to insights and reporting. You will:

  • Support the execution of campaigns from conception through to launch
  • Meet with clients with updates on ongoing work, discuss objectives and suggest potential social led solutions
  • Create social copy in the appropriate client tone of voice and tailored to each social channel, with a high level of accuracy
  • Create social assets from design templates that fit brand guidelines, encourage engagement, and work for strategic goals
  • Deliver thoughtful, organised, tactical and creative plans for client organic social content calendars
  • Activate social media materials to an optimised agreed schedule
  • Make recommendations for paid social media activity to reach client objectives
  • Implement and manage paid social media activity using data to ensure continued success for our clients
  • Report on organic and paid social media activity, offering commentary and insights on the results
  • Work with the client service team to deliver client-specific solutions using social knowledge and experience

What skills you will need:

  • A proven work history as a social media specialist
  • Excellent written skills across client communication, social media post content, and longer-form writing such as reports and presentations
  • Confidence in speaking to clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to explain technical and creative approaches at the appropriate level
  • Demonstratable experience working on organic social media strategy and delivery including creating social content calendars, copy and assets – including working with user-generated content
  • A working knowledge of running paid social campaigns (the Meta network using Facebook Ads Manager for both Facebook and Instagram and LinkedIn Campaign Manager as a minimum)
  • Tactical conceptual thinking and an understanding of social media storytelling
